Building and Construction

Gain practical and targeted skills and knowledge in the building, construction and allied trades by joining our carpentry programmes. Successfully completing our New Zealand BCATs qualifications levels 1-3 will help you transition to employment in the industry including a level 4 building apprenticeship. These programmes have a strong focus on working with whānau, hapū and iwi groups with the common goal of increasing the number of houses available to Māori and the wider population.

Content includes health and safety, hand and power tools, building machinery and construction materials, measuring and calculating and the completion of three BCATS projects.
